R&B singer Anderson .Paak has been enjoying a whirlwind of press the last couple of weeks, thanks to his excellent contributions to Dr. Dre’s Compton album and his own impressive sophomore LP, Malibu. Last night, the California native parlayed that success into his very first US television appearance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

There, he offered up performances of Malibu standouts “Silicon Valley” and “Carry Me”, at one point even singing while manning the drums. Live and in front of an audience, Paak is much like the music that he creates — impassioned, colorful, multifaceted, and above all, engaging.
