Flight of the Conchords announce 2016 reunion tour, confirm new music is on the way

New Zealand comedy duo of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie will embark on lengthy jaunt beginning in June

    It’s business time for Flight of the Conchords with plans for a North American tour this summer. The lengthy jaunt, their first in three years, commences June 11th in Cleveland and culminates with a headlining appearance at Newport Folk Festival.

    Update – Monday, March 28th at 9:10 a.m. CT: Flight of the Conchords have announced new shows in Portland, San Francisco, Austin, New York City, and Los Angeles.

    Update – Monday, May 9th at 1:10 p.m. CT: Flight of the Conchords have confirmed the tour’s opening acts, including Eugene Mirman, Arj Barker, Michael Che, Demetri Martin, and John Hodgman.

    Update – Tuesday, August 9th at 6:40 p.m. CT: The band has added a handful of new dates for October. Stops include Houston, Phoenix, and a headlining slot at Tenacious D’s Festival Supreme in Los Angeles.

    According to a press release, the New Zealand comedy duo of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie have new material in the works, which they’ll perform during these shows.

    “I’m thrilled to get back on the road with over half the original band,” McKenzie said in a statement. The band’s last album came in the form of 2009’s I Told You I Was Freaky.
