Naomi Watts and Tom Sizemore join Twin Peaks revival

Also, David Lynch set to reprise role as FBI Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole

Things are getting more and more interesting over at Twin Peaks. As Deadline reports, Naomi Watts and Tom Sizemore have signed up for the forthcoming revival over at Showtime. What’s more, David Lynch himself will reprise his role as the inordinately loud FBI Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole.

No word on who Watts and Sizemore will play, though here’s one interesting theory: What if — and this is a big what if — she’s to reprise her role as Betty Elms? It’s unlikely, but it’s something to chew on, especially considering Mulholland Drive was at one point considered to be a spin-off series for Sherilyn Fenn’s Audrey Horne.

    Wouldn’t that be something?

Of course, this latest round of news comes in the wake of recent reports that Laura Dern would also be joining for a “pivotal role,” which some speculate to be Diane, the never-before-seen secretary for Kyle MacLachlan’s Agent Cooper. Again, nothing’s confirmed, but these are all fun theories to sit on for now.

And we have a long time for that: Twin Peaks may not open until 2017.
