Even after the exit of Mike Huckabee and Donald Trump’s Adele-fueled crash and burn, the Republican field for president remains quite crowded. Ohio Governor John Kasich, who earned a paltry 1.9% of the vote in last night’s Iowa caucus, is hoping his latest campaign promise will provide him with a much needed boost, especially among fans of rock ‘n’ roll.
Speaking with CNN on Tuesday, Kasich promised that if elected president, he will do all he can to reunite Pink Floyd. Kasich explained that Roger Waters’ performance of The Wall was the best concert he’s ever attended, adding, “And if I’m president, I am going to once and for all try to reunite Pink Floyd to come together and play a couple of songs.”
If successful, Kasich said the first song he would ask them to play is “Money” from The Dark Side of the Moon.
For what it’s worth, Waters is a self-described liberal, and he’ll likely be turned off by Kasich’s pro-Israel stance. Even if Waters were to get passed that, his non-existent relationship with David Gilmour would undoubtedly derail Kasich’s efforts.
