New music from The Strokes is imminent.

Yesterday, Jesse Kirshbaum, the CEO of music media company Nue Agency, tweeted that he was listening to a new Strokes single. The tweet has since been deleted; however, sources with knowledge of the band’s plans have confirmed the existence of the new single. A timetable for its release is unknown, but is believed to be coming soon.

Late last year, The Strokes were spotted in a Monterrey, Mexico studio where they reportedly recorded new songs. Their last album came in the form of 2013’s Comedown Machine.

It’s possible we could hear new music as early as this evening as The Strokes are booked to play a private event at South by Southwest, Billboard reports. Otherwise, expect to hear something at NYC’s Governors Ball Music Festival this June. Organizers have said one of the reasons they booked the band to headline was due to the likelihood they’d be supporting a new album.
