    The Who made their first late-night television appearance in 50 years on Friday night’s edition of The Tonight Show. Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend performed “Who Are You?”, and you can find the replay below.

    Prior to last night, the band hadn’t performed on late-night television since their 1967 appearance on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, during which drummer Keith Moon overpacked his drum kit with too many explosives. The resulting explosion left Townshend deaf in one ear.

    Editor’s Note: As some readers have pointed out, The Who previously performed on the Late Show with David Letterman back in 2006. However, according to a press release issued by the band, last night was the “first full band U.S. nighttime talk show performance in nearly 50 years.”
