Nobody in their right mind would think that j-pop and heavy metal go together, but it’s so boring to be in your right mind all the time. Thank the Fox God for BABYMETAL, the female-fronted band whose debut album received massive international acclaim because — duh — it rules. The girls are taking their furious act Stateside this spring, and they’ve busted out of the gates with a blistering performance of “Gimme Chocolate!!” on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert. “Gimme Chocolate!!” appears on BABYMETAL’s debut solo album. The group’s sophomore LP, Metal Resistance, dropped April 1st via RAL/Sony Music Entertainment. In support, BABYMETAL will embark on a highly anticipated tour of the US next month.
