For the second time this month, Pearl Jam surprised fans by performing one of their albums in full. During a show in Greenville, South Carolina, the alt rock warriors waxed nostalgia with Vs. This evening in Philadelphia, Eddie Vedder and co. marked their 10th sold-out gig with a complete performance of their seminal debut, Ten, marking the first-ever time they’ve done so. Update: As several readers have pointed out, the band previously did Ten in full during a 1992 gig in Munich. Thus, this marks the second-ever performance of the album.

Pearl Jam performed all 11 tracks of Ten, including less often played songs like “Oceans”, “Garden”, and “Deep”. See the full setlist below, along with fan-shot footage.

As Rolling Stone points out, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament previously expressed reservations over the idea of performing albums in full. He said in a pre-tour interview, “I saw Cheap Trick do three albums and that was amazing. But for the most part I haven’t been a fan of that,” Ament said. “When we did those albums, we were on the plane going to the show and Ed said, ‘Hey, what do you feel about doing No Code tonight?’ And then we basically scrambled and learned the five songs we hadn’t played in 10 years right before the show. And it created, like, a good tension. By the second or third song, the fans started realizing what we were doing. We could sense that. I think the fact that we did it in Milwaukee and Moline was awesome. That was the greatest thing ever.”
