Courtney Barnett conquers SNL (and America) with incredible debut performance — watch

Courtney Barnett is by no means an unknown commodity to regular readers of this website. The Australian rocker captured hearts and blew minds with her excellent debut LP, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, and electric live show to boot. While she earned a Grammy nod for Best New Artist, last night’s season finale of Saturday Night Live marked the first time she was able to perform live for a national audience. And damn, did she deliver the goods with truly kick-ass performances of “Nobody Really Cares If You Don’t Go To The Party” (above) and “Pedestrian At Best”. Not trying to be hyperbolic, but it definitely came across as one of the more impressive SNL debuts in recent memory, and will likely be a performance people will revisit about for years to come.

Oh, and don’t take our word for it:

Yeah it is!
