In 2012, Ice-T directed and executive produced the documentary film Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap. Three years later, he followed it up with a music festival of the same name in California. Now, he’s teaming up with SiriusXM to bring the show on the road with the new The Art of Rap Touring Festival.

An all-star lineup including T himself along with Public Enemy, Naughty by NatureMobb DeepSugarhill Gang, EPMD, Kurtis Blow, MC Lyte, Grandmaster Melle Mel, and Scorpio will bring their hip-hop stylings to eight cities across the US this summer. The tour will kick off July 16th in Dallas and wrap up in Detroit on August 6th. The exact bill for each stop on the tour will vary; you can find complete details via the Art of Rap website.

“Hip-hop is the most powerful and influential cultural movement since rock and roll,” said Ice-T in a statement. “A true art form that deserves respect.”

Tickets will be available for everyone else on May 13th via the festival’s website. In addition, those who were subscribed to SiriusXM prior to April 28th will be able to enter a contest to win VIP tickets to the Brooklyn stop at Coney Island Amphitheater plus round-trip airfare, two nights in a hotel, and the chance to meet select artists on the bill.
