On March’s “Brushstroke”, rising LA artist JOME painted for us a synthpop masterpiece, his debut single at turns sweeping and fragile. He returns this week with a similarly affecting number in “Cinnamon”.
Here, JOME is haunted by lonesome guitar lines and spectral synths, as well as percussion that crackles and fades into the background like a distant storm. “Cinnamon”, according to him, “is about giving in and allowing a moment to fully envelope you. We are often better off when we surrender.”
