The National released their star-studded Grateful Dead compilation Day of the Dead on Friday, culminating a massive project that stretched on for years and brought together 59 artists from across the indie spectrum. On this weekend’s episode of CBS This Morning: Saturday, the band teamed up with Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy to cover several tracks that appear on the album.
The National performed “Peggy-O”, while Billy sang “If I Had the World to Give” to piano accompaniment. Brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National also sat down with Anthony Mason to discuss their experience compiling and producing Day of the Dead. Check out both covers below.
