Original Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha recently reunited with bandmate and info warrior Billy Corgan for their first performance together in 16 years. But rather than just revisit his past, Iha has also been looking forward to some other interesting work. How interesting, you might ask? Well, as Film Music Reporter points out, Iha has signed on to score Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?, James Franco’s upcoming Lifetime original movie about lesbian vampires.

Let’s repeat that: Jame Iha, James Franco, Lifetime, lesbian vampires. Yeah, we’d say that’s pretty damn intriguing.

A remake of the 1996 cult classic of the same name, the film will star Franco alongside original cast members Tori Spelling and Ivan Sergei. The original, which was based on a novel by Claire R. Jacobs, didn’t feature lesbians or vampires, but this update came from Franco’s head, so that explains that. It’s set to premiere on June 18th on Lifetime.

Since there’s still no news on the long-awaited Smashing Pumpkins reunion Corgan has hinted at recently, we’ll have to settle for Iha’s erotic soundtrack about the living dead. There are worse substitutes.
