Another actor has joined the race to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond. Sorry, did we say actor? Make that actress. The X-Files star Gillian Anderson has taken an internet rumor to heart and decided she wants to be the next 007.
An unknown fan made a poster of Anderson standing tall as James Jane Bond, and Anderson couldn’t resist. “It’s Bond. Jane Bond,” she tweeted. “Thanks for all the votes!”
However, Anderson admitted in a Tumblr Q&A that this is nothing but a fantasy at the moment. “Well, it’s not news, it’s a fantasy,” she said in response to fan’s question about the Bond rumor. “Someone made a fabulous poster and it started an intriguing conversation. Will it ever happen in the real world? More than probably not.” Still, she did say that the idea of her being the next Bond was the best rumor she’d ever heard about herself.

Tom Hiddleston is currently sitting as a 2-1 favorite to be the next 007 according to bookies, and of course Idris Elba is still a fan-favorite choice. “I’m probably the most famous Bond actor in the world, and I’ve not even played the role,” he told the Daily Telegraph in 2015. “Enough is enough. I can’t talk about it any more.”
