Like a diligent employee, Little Boots logged a bunch of hours in the studio to give fans last summer’s Working Girl album. Now for her follow-up, Afterhours, electropop songwriter Victoria Christina Hesketh is ready to loosen up and settle in for some much-needed R&R.

The new record is “the soundtrack for when the photocopier powers down and the office is locked up, and you want to find somewhere to let your hair down and forget about the day,” the UK native told Nylon this week.

Along with news of the forthcoming LP, Little Boots has shared its first single, “Staring at the Sun”. “SURPRISE! This song is dedicated to all of you guys,” she wrote on her Facebook page earlier today. Although the track is in honor of her followers, these listeners should be the ones doing the thanking, as the bright, house-inflected cut is the perfect way to kick off the weekend.

A release date for Afterhours hasn’t yet been confirmed, but its title track looks to be scheduled to drop on June 17th.
