Kanye West has long been a favorite target for the writers of South Park. In the 2009 episode “Fishsticks”, Trey Parker and Matt Stone famously poked fun at Kanye by portraying him as a “gay fish.” A few years down the road, the rapper again “appeared” on the animated series, this time accompanied by his “hobbit” wife Kim Kardashian and a parody of his Yeezus cut “Bound 2”.
Last week during E3, Parker took the time to mock Kanye once more. In particular, he revisited the “Fishsticks” episode while taking aim at “Only One”, the MC’s upcoming video game about his late mother Donda West’s journey to heaven. (The game debuted at the trade fair, though was met with a tepid response.) As XXL notes, Parker jokingly described their own game “South Park: The Fractured But Whole” thusly:
“There’s a gay fish in South Park, and he loves fish sticks, and the gay fish actually wants you to help him get his mother into heaven, so you get to journey up and help this little gay fish get his mom into heaven.”
