Plenty of artists are standing up for stricter regulations on guns in the wake of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. Earlier today, even, a large group of musicians signed an open letter to Congress demanding new gun legislation. But experimental composer Tyondai Braxton is going a step further than calling for change — he’s actually funding it. The former Battles member just dropped a new EP called Oranged Out, with all of the proceeds going toward the gun control advocacy organization Everytown for Gun Safety.

Braxton uploaded the songs, which come from the same sessions as his last album Hive1, to his Bandcamp as a pay-what-you-want download. On that page, he explained his reasoning for supporting Everytown. “Everytown are raising awareness about gun violence and advocating for sensible gun safety measures in the wake of the Orlando shooting, Newtown / Sandy Hook, and Aurora – as well as the daily gun deaths that we’ve grown so accustomed to that it’s not even news worthy anymore,” he wrote.

In addition to the five-track EP, Braxton released a music video/abstract visual art piece by Grace Vilamil for the title track. Braxton plans to perform the tracks with accompaniment by Vilamil during a series of shows this July. Get a taste of that up top and check out his tour dates down below.
