It’s a big month for Brooklyn teenage metal trio Unlocking the Truth. Tomorrow, they’ll finally release their highly anticipated debut album, Chaos, and next week will see the premiere of their own documentary, Breaking a Monster.

Directed by Luke Meyer, the rock doc captures the strenuous journey of three black 7th graders who went from playing guerrilla gigs in Times Square to landing a record deal via Sony that net them 1.8 million dollars.

The film initially premiered at the 2015 installment of South by Southwest Film, but when the band severed ties with Sony, the project was put on the back burner. Now, Unlocking the Truth are ready to unlock their future.

In anticipation, we’ve got an exclusive clip from the documentary that follows members Malcolm Brickhouse, Jarad Dawkins, and Alec Atkins as veteran music manager/goon Alan Sacks awkwardly tells them what to wear to Coachella.

It’s one of a dozen scenes in Meyer’s film that confirms how major labels are totally fucked and out of touch with their clientele. No wonder the boys jumped ship from this disaster. Watch above and shake your head for hours after.

Chaos hits stores tomorrow via Tunecore, while Breaking a Monster premieres June 24th. Both Meyer and the band will appear at a special screening and performance next Tuesday at New York’s Museum of Moving Image. Tickets still available!
