Phantogram seek new thrills in video for “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore” — watch

The freakish video shows the two exploring new outlets

Last month, electro-pop duo Phantogram debuted their first new track in over two years in the form of “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore”. The two later revealed it serves as the lead single for Three, their upcoming third album, which will be released on September 16th through Republic Records. So far they’ve performed the track on Fallon, and today they have shared its music video.

The video sees the thrill seeking duo in search of new thrills — in the fashion of “out with the old, in with the new” (and freaky). The footage was filmed at Salton Sea in California, allowing for eye-catching imagery in addition to less appealing images of flesh being cut into and some other weird shit.

In a statement to FADERJosh Carter said of the video:

“‘You Don’t Get Me High Anymore’ is about the loneliness in superficial relationships and that feeling of not being able to find happiness in places that were once so easy to come across. The desolation in Bombay Beach represents that feeling really well. The area was once a promising vacation spot before the droughts and now it’s a ghost town. We were excited that Grant [Singer] picked that spot, he understood the aesthetic of the song right off the bat and ran with it”
