If you’re looking for an intergalactic alternative to Star Wars this Christmas might we recommend Passengers, a new sci fi drama starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt.
The film takes place aboard the Starship Avalon amidst a 120-year voyage to a distant planet. 5,259 people are aboard the ship stored in hibernation chambers so they do not age. However, due to a malfunction, a single passenger is awakened 90 years before anyone else. Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he eventually decides to wake up a second passenger.
Passengers — which was directed by Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) and written by Jon Spaihts — is due in theaters on December 21st, 2016. In anticipation, check out the first photos from the film via EW.
