Since returning with new music in 2014, Aphex Twin has racked up a growing list of firsts. The elusive producer gave fans SYRO, his first album in 13 years, followed by his first music video in nearly 20 years.
Come the fall, Richard D. James will make history again with his first US show in eight years. He’s scheduled to perform at the Day for Night Festival, which takes place in Houston on December 17th and 18th, Consequence of Sound can confirm.
The Irish-born beatsmith’s last US performance came at Coachella, where he made a surprise appearance in 2008. It’s been even longer — 17 years in fact — since he played a gig for which tickets were available in advance.
Aphex Twin doesn’t have any other live dates in the works; there is, however, a 24-hour megamix that hungry fans can spin in the meantime.
Below, watch a clip teasing his Day for Night appearance.
