Canadian pop artist Grimes, a.k.a. Claire Boucher, has been outspoken about her homeland’s politics in the past, articulating her disdain for former Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper on social media and in an interview last year with Vice. Fortunately, Grimes has much warmer feelings toward current Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The two crossed paths backstage at Saturday’s Global Citizen concert at the Bell Centre in Montreal, an event that raised funds to end AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. Trudeau was even nice enough to pose for a picture with Grimes and her crew. We’re not sure who should be feeling more lucky here — Trudeau for meeting one of his country’s preeminent pop artists, or Grimes for meeting the hipster PM she may have helped to elect. Let’s call it a draw, eh?
