Rostam Batmanglij and Hamilton Leithauser are no strangers to the late-night TV circuit, but neither musician had appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. To be fair, they never really had the chance; Batmanglij left Vampire Weekend before they had a new record to support, and The Walkmen have been on hiatus since 2014. Good thing they now have their Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam project to support.

The super duo appeared on last night’s Late Show to promote their forthcoming debut LP, I Had a Dream That You Were Mineby performing “1000 Times’ off the September 23rd release. Unlike the track’s music video, the performance didn’t feature the musician’s fathers, but it did see Leithauser delivering his vocals with his typical, throat-busting passion and Rostam switching back and forth between keys and guitar
