Morrissey covers Ramones’ “Judy Is a Punk” for first time — watch

A few years back, Morrissey curated a Ramones greatest hits album for Record Store Day. “Judy Is a Punk” was among the tracks included on the compilation, and during a show in Brooklyn on Saturday night, Moz covered the song for the very first time. Watch fan-shot footage above.

It’s worth noting that Morrissey hasn’t always been a fan of the legendary punk band. As Stereogum points out, The Smiths singer described the Ramones as “the latest bumptious band of degenerate no-talents” in a 1976 issue of Melody Maker.
