On Saturday night, Beck, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and others joined forces for a charity concert in Malibu benefiting the Boys and Girls Club.
Described by Smith as “my new boy band,” the lineup also featured The Wallflowers’ Jakob Dylan, E Street Band keyboardist Roy Bittan, and Goldfrapp’s Davide Rossi. Together, they performed Beach Boys’ “Surfin’ USA”, Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb”, and Bruce Springsteen’s “My Hometown” in addition to songs by Prince, Ariana Grande, and Beck himself. For their performance of Twenty One Pilots’ “Heart of Gold”, Chris Martin’s son Moses sang lead.
