R.I.P. Pete Burns, “You Spin Me Round” singer has died at 57

    Pete Burns, frontman of British dance-pop outfit Dead or Alive, died Sunday after suffering massive cardiac arrest. He was 57 years old.

    “All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star,” a statement from his family and management reads. “He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories that he has left us with.”

    With Dead or Alive, Burns achieved a No. 1 single in the UK with “You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)”. The song also charted on the U.S. Hot 100, peaking at No. 11. It was later sampled by Flo Rida on his own No. 1 single “Right Round”.

    Dead or Alive are also known for their songs “Lover Come Back To Me” and “Brand New Lover”.
