A Tribe Called Quest do Phife Dawg proud with spectacular SNL performance — watch

Alongside host Dave Chappelle, A Tribe Called Quest served as musical guest on the latest episode of Saturday Night Love. The surviving members of the seminal hip-hop group hit the stage for a rare live performance behind their first album in nearly two decades, We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service.

Q-Tip, Jarobi White, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad first performed “We the People….” When it came time for Phife Dawg’s verse, a mural of the late rapper dropped down from the ceiling as his recorded vocals played aloud.

For their second performance, Tribe unfurled the album’s opening track, “The Space Program”, with assistance from Busta Rhymes and Consequence.
