The first rule of a Mondo vinyl reissue is put together an incredible package. That’s exactly what they’ve done for their just announced repressing of the Fight Club soundtrack, bringing The Dust Brothers’ score to vinyl for the first time in 15 years.
David Fincher’s adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk’s novel has gone on to cult classic status, but the OST hasn’t been available on vinyl since its 1999 original release. Mondo’s version will be pressed onto two slabs of Pink Soap vinyl and come with a fold out instructional poster for how to administer a chemical burn. In a truly genius design choice, you won’t be able to actually access the vinyl or inserts without “destroying something beautiful.” It all comes housed in a sleeve like a sealed manila envelope, and the only way to open it is to pull a tab labeled “Sacrifice” and tear it completely around. I say never be complete, I say never be perfect.
The reissue will be available as of this Wednesday, November 16th, at 1:00 PM EST. Check out images and an unboxing video below.
