Back in 2014, Arcade Fire’s first feature film opened in theaters. Dubbed The Reflektor Tapes, the project was “a unique cinematic experience” comprised of concert footage, interviews, and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of their 2013 Reflektor album.
Now, that film is being released on DVD/Blu-ray, packaged alongside a concert film chronicling the indie rockers’ string of Summer 2014 Reflektor shows at London’s Earls Court venue. Officially titled The Reflektor Tapes/Live at Earls Court, it’s set to arrive on January 27th.
“There were parts of the Reflektor tour where I think we, Arcade Fire, came the closest in our careers to putting on stage what we imagined in our heads,” the band previously said of The Reflektor Tapes. “We were insanely lucky to have Kahlil Joseph documenting from the very beginning.”
As a preview, Arcade Fire have shared an excerpt from the upcoming release, live footage of them performing “Reflektor”. Check it out below.
The band is currently working on a new album, which could be here as early as this spring.
