On the eighth day of Donald Trump’s toxic administration, the benefit singles compilation Our First 100 Days continues rolling on with the latest installment from the collection, “Dogs At Night”. The new track is an outtake from Meat Wave’s upcoming release, The Incessant, and follows previous tracks from Angel Olsen (“Fly On Your Wall”), Avey Tare (“Visit the Dojo”), and Jason Molina (“Royko”).
“Dogs At Night” kicks off with driving percussion and a catchy bassline before bringing in a hypnotizing guitar lick and building toward a big chorus. The lyrics are appropriate for the current state of politics, too, addressing “fear and fate and flight.” Preview it below.
As the name of the project implies, a new single will be revealed for the first 100 days of Trump’s administration, with proceeds going to causes threatened by the new presidency. All profits from the requested minimum $30 subscription go to organizations fighting for causes including climate change, women’s rights, immigration, LGBTQ, and community building.
