Regina Spektor shares dreamy new video for “Black and White” — watch

Remember Us to Life visual was filmed at Chicago's long-shuttered Uptown Theater

In the wake of the new presidential administration, Regina Spektor has managed to be political minded while still providing a welcome distraction with her music. A few weeks ago, she performed an inspiring cover of Bob Dylan’s “Blowin’ in the Wind” at the Women’s March in Los Angeles, and now the Soviet refugee shares a new video for her Remember Us to Life track “Black and White”.

Directed by longtime friend and collaborator Daniel Ryan, the surreal video was filmed at Chicago’s long-shuttered Uptown Theater, a location which Spektor compares to “a castle that fell asleep.” The camera pans between shots of the singer-songwriter performing “Black and White” on a piano and a ballet dancer who eventually disappears into time. Watch the new visual above.

“The music was basically reviving this dancer from the past,” Spektor tells Elle, who premiered the video. “And then she sort of vanished back into the memory of time.”

Spektor is embarking on a North American tour starting in March. Check out the announcement video below.
