Tom Waits hasn’t performed live since serenading David Letterman during his final days as host of the Late Show in 2015. However, last night Waits made a surprise return, joining Mavis Staples on stage to perform The Staples Sisters classic “Respect Yourself”. Somewhat randomly, the concert took place at a Lagunitas Brewery in California and all sorts of branding appears in the background of the fan-shot footage. Still, it’s a sight to see.
