Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive brought their co-headlining “Collapse the World Tour” to New York City’s Terminal 5 on Thursday night (May 9th), delivering a night of impassioned performances that included support from After the Burial and Vein.
With both bands amassing devoted followings as veterans of the metalcore scene, Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive have been alternating closing duties on the tour, with KsE having the honor of being the last band to perform at the New York City show.
KsE singer Jesse Leach informed the audience he was under the weather, but soldiered on to complete the show, enlisting the crowd’s help on vocals when needed. With the Massachusetts band working on a new album for its new label Metal Blade Records, KsE played a high-energy career-spanning set, performing songs ranging from their 2000 self-titled debut to their most recent effort, 2016’s Incarnate.
Parkway Drive leaned heavy on their most recent album, Reverence, playing six songs from the 2018 LP, including singles “Wishing Wells”, “Prey”, and “The Void”. Frontman Winston McCall and company delivered a powerful set, as the Australian band’s impact in the States was clearly evident by the crowd’s enthusiastic response.
