Caroline Polachek has finally revealed a release date for her upcoming record, Pang. Executive-produced by PC Music’s Danny L Harle, the former Charlift singer’s first solo effort under her own name is due out October 18th via Columbia Records. In conjunction with the announcement, Polachek has released a new album track entitled “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings”.
While previous teaser tracks “Parachute” and “Ocean of Tears” served up ethereal tones, “So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings” has a little more pep in its step. With a hint of an ’80s pop vibe, Polachek’s vocals ping-pong off the synths as she sings the refrain, “I get a little lonely/ Get a little more close to me/You’re the only one who knows me, babe/ So hot you’re hurting my feelings.”
The new track comes equipped with a lyric video, which you can check out below. You can also revisit the early single “Door”. Update — Monday, October 7th: Polachek has shared both the Pang album artwork and 14-song tracklist below. Pre-orders for the record have also begun.
Polachek will support Pang with a modest run of tour dates, mostly along the the coastal US (for now, at least). Get your tickets here.
