Last week saw Neil Young share a new song called “Rainbow of Colors”. However, Young used the weekend to revisit his past. For the first time in 42 years, Young performed “New Mama” live during a charity event in Southern California, as Rolling Stone points out.
Young dusted off the 1975 rarity toward the end of his appearance at Sunday’s “Harvest Moon: A Gathering,” a concert that benefits the Bridge School and Painted Turtle, a summer camp for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. In a white “Preserve” t-shirt, the Canadian songwriter gently rocked through the Tonight’s the Night selection, wind blowing through his hair, as though 1977 were just yesterday.
