    With all tours and events grounded because of the coronavirus, artists have been using livestreaming to stay close to their fans. Today’s packed schedule includes live performances from Nicolas Jaar, Ben Gibbard, Waxahatchee and Kevin Morby, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Julien Baker, and Questlove.

    Plus, Chadwick Stokes of Dispatch, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, Langhorne Slim, and more will participate in the “Closer in Crisis” live benefit concert; Radiohead will stream another classic concert from their archive; The Black Crowes will stream a recent live performance from the reunion acoustic tour; the members of Tool, Megadeth, and Korn are holding a bass and drum webinar; and Dolly Parton will read your children a bedtime story.

    “Pickathon: A Concert A Day”

    Pickathon Music Festival has announced “A Concert A Day”, an initiative to help musicians and artist communities through the Recording Academy’s MUSICARES organization. During this time of hardship, with so many artists unable to tour and so many people stuck at home, Pickathon is opening the vaults to premiere one full concert a day for 60 days, streaming for free on Facebook, Amazon Music’s Twitch channel, and on YouTube.

    The Raconteurs’ Brendan Benson has announced “Boy In A Bubble”, a daily series of livestreamed solo performances. Benson will perform one song per day, pulling from all points of his storied career and premiering material from his upcoming solo album Dear Life.

    Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard is performing regular concerts from his home studio. His initial performances have featured a mix of DCFC songs, material from The Postal Service, and covers of Radiohead and New Order. Future shows may include special guests.

    Gibbard is also encouraging his fans to donate to organizations including Aurora Commons and the University District Food Bank.

    Dolly Parton’s “Goodnight With Dolly”

    Chadwick Stokes of Dispatch, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, Foy Vance, Jade Bird, Langhorne Slim, Ballroom Thieves, and more are coming together to support mental health in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. Sound Mind’s virtual benefit concert, “Closer in Crisis”, will be streaming at 8:00 p.m. EDT from Relix’s YouTube channel. Hosted by comedian Chris Gethard, the event will feature at-home musical performances and interviews with mental health experts. The event is free but all donations will benefit mental health resources for the music community.

    Country singer Luke Bryant will participate in Verizon’s weekly “Pay It Forward Live” series. Over the course of “Pay It Forward Live”, viewers are encouraged to do what they can to support local businesses in their own communities by shopping online, buying a gift card to be used when businesses reopen or ordering a meal. Verizon will also donate $10, up to $2.5 million, to support small businesses when the hashtag #PayitForwardLIVE is used.

    With no live concerts happening during the COVID-19 quarantine, Chris and Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes are treating fans to three of the songs captured on film from their recent, sold out run of acoustic dates — intimate shows performed under the moniker Brothers of a Feather. The high quality black and white piece was shot at the tour’s final date at the Chapel in San Francisco on March 6th, 2020.

    Drew Holcomb is making the most of his time in self-quarantine by creating the “Kitchen Covers” series that streams every evening at 9:00 p.m. EST via Instagram and Facebook. So far, he’s covered songs by The Avett Brothers, Tom Petty, U2, and Kenny Rogers.

    Diplo’s “Corona World Tour”

    For the duration of social distancing/quarantine practices in the U.S., Diplo will livestream DJ sets from his house five nights per week.     Major publishers and record labels will allow the archived streams to live on YouTube and to be monetized by respective rights holders, with royalties being paid to all those whose music is played in the shows.
