Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, Jonny Greenwood, Hans Zimmer, and Questlove are among the musicians nominated for Academy Awards in 2022.

Beyoncé and Eilish are both up for Best Original Song, marking the first Oscar nomination for both artists. Queen Bey received recognition for “Be Alive,” her contribution to King Richard, while Eilish and brother Finneas are nominated for their James Bond theme, “No Time to Die.”

Other nominees in the Best Original Song category include Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Dos Oruguitas” from Encanto; Diane Warren’s ‘Somehow You Do” from Four Good Days; and Van Morrison’s “Down to Joy” from Belfast.

Greenwood’s original score for The Power of the Dog earned the Radiohead guitarist his second Oscar nomination. He was previously nominated for Best Original Score in 2017 for Phantom Thread.

Zimmer earned his 12th Academy Award nomination to date, thanks to his score for Dune. Thus far, his lone Oscar victory came for his original score to The Lion King in 1994.

Other nominees for Best Original Score include Nicholas Britell for Don’t Look Up; Germaine Franco for Encanto; and Alberto Inglesias for Parallel Mothers.

Questlove also received Oscar love, as his acclaimed film Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) is nominated for Best Documentary Feature. “Oscar Nominated Film Director Questlove……I just need to see this in print. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” the Roots drummer tweeted in reaction to his nomination.
