Prepare to have your heart broken all over again because Wilco are bringing back their indie rock classic Yankee Hotel Foxtrot for a series of 20th anniversary concerts in New York and Chicago.
The first leg spans four nights at United Palace in New York City from April 15th to April 19th, followed by back-to-back shows at the Auditorium Theatre in the band’s adopted hometown of Chicago starting April 22nd. The final set on April 23rd coincides with the 20th anniversary of the album’s official retail release date.
In a press statement, the band promises a complete performance of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, which Consequence ranked No. 3 on its Top 100 Albums of the 2000s, as well as a “mix of concert favorites and rarities.”
A ticket pre-sale for these anniversary concerts begins Wednesday, February 9th at 11:00 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster (using code RESERVATION), with a public on-sale following on Friday, February 11th.
The band is also hosting their long-running Solid Sound Festival in North Adams, Massachusetts from May 27th to May 29th. In addition to their usual three-night headlining slot, the fest boasts sets from Japanese Breakfast, Sylvan Esso, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, and more. They hit the road again for a European tour in June, and return to the States August 28th for a performance at Beach Road Weekend.
Last fall, Wilco were inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame, performing “California Stars” with Jason Isbell and Roseanne Cash at the induction ceremony. Frontman Jeff Tweedy also recently reissued his soundtrack to the 2001 film Chelsea Walls.
