Never let it be said Bob Nastanovich isn’t a man of his word. After accepting a tennis challenge from Tim Heidecker in May, Nastanovich recruited fellow Pavement member Stephen Malkmus to make good on the promise against the comedian and his Office Hours podcast co-host DJ Douggpound. Watch highlights from the match below.

Pavement drummer Steve West and Victor Berger IV (the third Office Hours co-host) served as ballboys for the previously agreed upon half set, with the winner being the first team to reach three games. Despite winning the racket spin and electing to serve first, the Office Hours duo lost the first game to Malkmus and Nastanovich.

Taking the L inspired Heidecker to break out his net game and play a key catalyst in tying the match at 1-1. After that, Douggpound’s mean serve brought the match to 2-1, but Heidecker’s emotion got the best of him and Pavement took the next game.

Meanwhile, Heidecker’s upcoming album, High School, drops on June 24th. It includes the singles “Buddy,” “Punch in the Gut,” and “Sirens of Titan,” and will arrive ahead of a two-act music and comedy tour beginning in July; grab your seats here.
