As a testament to Taylor Hawkins’ stature as a beloved rock music figure, a cavalcade of stars are turning out for his upcoming tribute concerts in London and Los Angeles.
As previously reported, with the approval of Hawkins’ family, Foo Fighters will honor their late drummer with “all-star rock shows” at London’s Wembley Stadium on September 3rd and Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on September 27th.
Hawkins’ friends, fans, and past collaborators are set to appear alongside Foo Fighters at both shows. In London, the guest list includes RUSH’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, Liam Gallagher, Queen’s Roger Taylor and Brian May, Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic, The Police’s Stewart Copeland, Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney, Queens of the Stone Age’s Joshua Homme and Alain Johannes, Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Nandi Bushell, Nile Rodgers, Wolfgang Van Halen, Omar Hakim, and members of Hawkins’ covers band Chevy Metal.
The Los Angeles’ guest list is similarly massive, promising appearances from Travis Barker, Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler, Pearl Jam’s Matt Cameron, Soundgarden’s Kim Thayll, RUSH’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Alanis Morissette, Miley Cyrus, Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Rage Against the Machine’s Brad Wilk, Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic, Nancy Wilson, Queens of the Stone Age’s Joshua Homme, Jon Theodore, and Alain Johannes, Joan Jett, P!NK, The Police’s Stewart Copeland, Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney, Gene Simmons, Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee, Mark Ronson, Omar Hakim, LeAnn Rimes, and Chevy Metal.
Additional special guests for both shows are still to be revealed.
