As a way to introduce Foo Fighters’ new live drummer Josh Freese, Dave Grohl dedicates a portion of the band’s show to running through some of Freese’ previous work in bands including Devo, Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys, and — yes, Michael Bublé. However, as Grohl is unfamiliar with the lyrics to Bublé’s “Haven’t Met You Yet,” he recently began welcoming fans to the stage who claim to know the song.

During Foo Fighters’ headlining set at Outside Lands on Sautrday, Grohl called up a “super fan” who was holding a sign that read, “I <3 Bublé.” As it turned out, said super fan was none other than Bublé himself. Watch video below.

“This motherfucker better know the song,” Grohl joked. Later, the Foo Fighters frontman let fans in on the joke. “We’ve been doing that thing where people from the audience come up and say ‘I know that fucking song,’ and they walk up and they know the first verse, they don’t know it,” Grohl said. “So this bad ass motherfucker — and I’m not even kidding — flew in today from Argentina to fucking sing that song to you guys. Because there’s no such thing as taking a joke too far.”

Foo Fighters will play several more festivals and headlining shows in both North and South America through the end of the year. You can find tickets to their upcoming gigs here.
